War is not experienced the same way by everyone.
For some people in the UAE living with deafness the fear came from not knowing what a sound meant.
For neurodivergent individuals sudden alarms disrupted routines triggered sensory overload and created constant hypervigilance.
For those living with PTSD every vibration alert siren or loud noise could reactivate memories stored deep in the nervous system.
Many families described sleepless nights emotional exhaustion and the need for constant reassurance and co regulation. Experts explained that even when the mind knows it is safe the body can still remain in survival mode.

This conversation matters because accessibility is not only about ramps and physical spaces.
It is also about emotional safety sensory inclusion clear communication and mental health support.
The UAE has continued building accessibility initiatives for People of Determination including sign language services digital accessibility and inclusion programs.
Invisible struggles are still real struggles.
Compassion inclusion and understanding should never disappear once the noise fades.

I went to the Roads and Transpor Authority head office in Al Garhoud to raise and discuss the concerns I have long carried about the roads and footpaths across Dubai. What began as a simple visit turned into a meaningful opportunity to be heard, to share, and to contribute in my own small way toward making the city more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
Thank you, Dubai, for truly listening to every voice, valuing every concern, and continuously striving to build a city that cares.

Attended the book launch of the book written by Dr Mehnaz Abdullah, gynaecologist at Aster Hospital,A Handbook for Caregivers Menstrual Management for People of Determination(Intellectual. Health=physical health±intellectual health so it is very often that people with intellectual disability don't get their fair share of sympathy. The only difference is that a physical disability can be seen with the eyes and an intellectual disability cannot be seen.Talking about menstrual health care is still considered a taboo that is why writing a book on such a topic was even more important. The book is so well written and such an eye opener. When a big group such as is in charge of such a book launch, the awareness spread is further 🙂. So proud to be part of the Ramadan night walk. It was a part of the spread awareness about building ramps.When I started this journey, I thought building ramps will be the only solution needed that is going to solve all the problems for anyone facing a physical disability. I was wrong. With time I realised that though getting the ramps built was very important it was just the beginning .The world is made of people and inclusion is an extremely important part .The event is what real inclusion looks like
